Happy Birthday...TWR style!

Based on my last two weeks installments, it may seem as if I really don't know what is best for me self preservation wise, but in fact I do. Or, some may suggest, that I simply do not have any more good pictures of the birthday girl. Choose as you may. I have decided going into the weekend of my lovely wife's birthday that there is merit behind the argument of less is more.

Keri, the girls and I love you and I truly do not know what we would do with out you.

I hope you have a Happy Birthday!

He'll do what????

So I have thought long and hard if this was worth sharing, and I've decided it is good stuff. Yesterday Reagan, still home from mother's day out b/c of her cough, got on a puzzle kick. She put together a 150 piece puzzle and was so tickled with herself she asked if I would keep it together until her Daddy got home, I agreed happily. Well Rusty gets home long after Ray is asleep each night. After she and I had read her book, done a Biscuit Reader, and gotten all tucked in, I left her to tend to Morgan as I do each night. After spending a few minutes with Morgan I remembered the puzzle from earlier in the day. I left Morgan for a moment to remind Ray that I would make sure to show Rusty her PUZZLE. Reagan looked up at me, looking so confused & sleepy. She,in a very concerned manner, said "Why does he want to see my butt hole" I repeated"Puzzle" She and I, needless to say died laughing! She had misunderstood me and was extremely confused & relieved to know he'd only be checking her puzzle! Only Reagan, I just love her.

In a nutshell...

Just a few little facts about the DeBorde household this week:

1. 3 out of 4 DeBordes are presently sick, luckily I am the one that is well, as I am the caregiver.

2. 3 out of 4 DeBordes have asthma, yep you guessed it, I am the one that does not, luckily because I am the medicator and caregiver of the other 3.

3. 3 out of 4 DeBordes are presently wheezing and coughing their butts off, you know how this goes, I am not coughing nor wheezing.

4. Reagan has been the sickest, she eeked passed the horror of being put in the hospital yesterday, her pulse oxygen level was at 86 when I got her to the doctor. I didn't drag my feet on this, she had symptoms Sunday and was at the doctor's office Monday!

5. A steroid injection in the butt of a 5 year old, HURTS!!!!! It was awful, but very beneficial kept her sore hiney out of the hospital.

6. 2 out of 4 DeBordes are home sick today and tomorrow, any ideas, we have watched movies, colored a card board playhouse, played Mario Cart, snacked, lots of hot apple cider...natives are restless.

7. The drugs used to treat asthma make the individual shaky, hyper, out of control, remember my restless natives? Well now they are restless and on steroids!

8. 1 non-sick DeBorde is very thankful for an awesome doctor (Shannon Hayes) who stepped up yesterday when Reagan's Pulmonologist's office was closed for MLK! If she hadn't been quick and aggressive, I KNOW I wouldn't be home blogging right now. I am also thankful that the girls will get past this very soon & many are a lot sicker than they are.

9. Lastly, the one non-sick DeBorde is secretly enjoying having the girls home, I wish they felt better, but its been kind of nice. Morgan got to watch the Inauguration today!

10. We all 4 wish you a happy week, & lots to be thankful for as well!

***For all of you that we were with this past weekend, I really hope they don't get any of you sick, sorry!

To Rusty

“I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.”
William Allen White

We have seen a lot of yesterdays together, and if our life is filled with many more, we are blessed, don't forget that. I truly do love today, I am not worried about what our future holds at all. Keep doing what you are doing, don't you say something like "Even a Blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while?!" Your nut is out there waiting to be found :-) Love you!!!

Thursday with Rusty on the second Thursday of my lovely wife's birthday month!

I am absolutely, 100% in love with my wife. I truly believe that I have married better than I should have and that I am a better person than I could have been without her in my life. Therefore, I thank God everyday that he blessed me with her. I try hard, but I do not deserve the wife or life I have been given...nonetheless, I am thankful.

With that said, I am not sure what I should get Keri for her Birthday. We usually do not do much for each other on Birthdays or Christmas as we usually choose to spend it on the girls. This Christmas however, I did decide to get crazy and I got her a couple of new camo shirts for the deer lease. Stop, she needed them and I wanted them for her as she is so special to me. This is where you come in, aside from the broken bra that needs replacing can ya'll please help me think of what to get this beacon of light in my otherwise dark life? In order to not blow the surprise, e-mail me at rusty@texassignaturebuilders.com

PS...The rest of the month I will dedicate my efforts on this blog to sharing with you "fruity butt" as her grandfather called her. If you have any memories or ideas for me, by all means let me know. My love for this woman has no limits!

Happy New Years, OJT style

We decided to spend New Years Eve at Lake Livingston State Park this year. Many of us were wanting to share the night with the kids, but not wanting anyone to have to get on the roads, so camping seemed like a great option. It was really fun & weather was great. Rusty's Big Rig was having some trouble getting us there, but after a mere 6 hours we made it. If this New Years is any indication how 2009 will be, I am blessed. There were a lot of laughs, stories, hikes, delicious eats, great friends, campfires, all of our kids, and plenty of cold beer...maybe even a stumble or 2! Thanks to all of you that shared it with us, for all of our family and friends that did not, we are looking forward to a great '09 with you and and feel so lucky that you all are a part of our lives.

Now that the serious side is done, here's some pictures and a video of our trip.
