TWR...keeping a solid grasp on your priorities

Just like any other Tuesday, I was in a rush to prepare for a client meeting. As always, I was even Steven, I had things done just in the nick of time and looked like a duck on the surface. I was calm, cool, and collected and scrambling like crazy underneath. That is when Keri called me from behind the scenes quite upset that made me think about just where my head was at and gave me a reality check about what matters most. Chili dog has adult heart worms. She has them because I did not administer her preventive medicine as prescribed. She has them because I was too busy taking care of what I thought was important. She picks my ducks up for me in the freezing cold, she waits at the back gate for me until I come home late from work, and she protects my family from harm when I am away, and this is the gratitude I have for her. The veterinarian says there is know guarantee that she will survive the painful two month treatment that she will have to endure but that she has had a great success rate. Chili looks in my eyes and seems to say, when I am well, I can't wait to go hunting.

I am sorry Chili.

Please don't make the same mistakes that I have, be it with a loved one or anyone or anything else.

Oh, and say a prayer for Chili.

Peace,
~R

Are You Ready For Some FOOTBALL?

Billy's shirt got me thinkin', we've got College Football this weekend, and if that is not enough excitement, Rusty will start his betting season. I'm sure you will all hear more about this & possibly get to give input on his bets. This is an exciting time of year around our house, and pretty lucrative last year. So.... Happy Football Season to all. Help Rusty win big this year, we spend every weekend on pins and needles.

Go Ags!

Come On Beery!?

I came across this photo someone put on Facebook, I don't know how old it is, but by the looks of me, pretty old. Rusty and I are with our friend Bill, or I like to call him Beery, what were we thinking posing with the T-Sipper? All I can say is I was young and dumb...but I still love ya Billy! I am pretty sure I was a lot smaller then, but it could just be the fact that I am next to Big Billy... look how big my nose looks, even Beery couldn't help me there!

Good - Bye Summer: Hello Third Grade

Well as many of you know from experience, the school bell rang today. Morgan started third grade and was very excited about it. As Rusty, Reagan, and I walked down the hall after dropping her off in her classroom my overwhelming thought was " In the year 2000 (the year Morgan was born) I never pictured this happening" We walked in the room, the teacher checked her name off a list and Morgan sat in a seat, and we left. That was that. After spending 8 years protecting her from everything, only leaving her with her grandmothers, hand picking which kids she can go and play with... we were left with dropping her off with a mere stranger. The best part of that is we had no choice in the matter. Now before you all have some sort of intervention for me and think I am going crazy, understand that I know this is normal and is a natural progression in childhood, but as a parent you really never see it coming. Some part of me will always, in my mind's eye, see Morgan as a little baby, she is not though. I am so proud of the little lady she is growing into and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her, but she is still my baby.
So here I sit at this computer, home alone with Reagan and Zsa Zsa, wondering where time has gone, and feeling so lucky to have been a part of all of that time. I will miss Morgan today, but I know that she is so happy and excited, and is not missing us. She looked precious today, so to close I have included a couple of pictures from this morning, at home obviously, because she may die of embarrassment if I were to take a picture of her at school! For all of you kiddos and parents who had your first day of school today, I wish you a fun and succesful school year...mostly fun though!!!!

TWR: Never Leave Your Wing Man

I felt that it was my call to duty this week to stand beside my friend Patty who is pregnant and chose to show all of us her baby belly. Can you see the difference? If you look in the back ground, that is a big bottle of Spanish Sangria that I plan on drinking when my favorite little AGGIE is born!

Gig'em,

Big RA

Another Day, Another Performance

So the girls put on another show for me yesterday, I will so miss these when school starts on Monday, and I wanted to share one video that I thought was cute... you decide but I think she has passion for this song. Watch her expressions & a possible itchy leg! :-) You may have to pause my music playlist at the bottom to hear the video because it is just music from Morgan's ipod and it is not real loud on the video.

The Riverwalk: DeBordeStyle

There's no rhyme or reason why Reagan felt like lying down in many of the Riverwalk pictures, she felt like she was posing, but in some she resembles a street bum!

Ray finally got to see the Owlamo! No Owls though! BUT, she now wants a pet pigeon b/c of all the pigeons around there!

They found someone's eyeglass case on the bench, and proceeded to try them on before I could stop them, here's my kids trying to be sophisticated?

Out of the Mouth of Reagan

We are headed tomorrow to San Antonio for our annual pre-school trip to Fiesta Texas, this year we are going to spend one night on the Riverwalk & see the Alamo. Reagan has never been to the Alamo, but has heard us talking about it. She asked me last night if she could buy a toy owl while we are there. Get it? She thinks we are going to the "Owlimo". I died laughing, she is so literal.

Have a great weekend!

TWR...Did you know?

Typically on Thursdays I don't plan what I am going to blog about. Usually in the course of my normal daily routine something will just come to me, in most cases as unexpectedly as irritable bowel syndrome and from there I will just run with it. With that in mind, I got to thinking that some of you may not know me very well at all. Oh sure, there are the obvious physical attributes but I am a much deeper person than that. Therefore, this week I decided to share some things about myself that I have been reluctant to share with anybody before.

I have sent mail before without postage and it still was delivered.

My charisma can be seen from space.

There are over 200 folk stories told about me in Mexico alone.

My beard is part of the organ donor program.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do I prefer Dos Equis

Stay thirsty my friends!

Please say a little prayer...

Many of you know Rusty's Superintendent, Nick Jordan, his younger sister had surgery today at MD Anderson. She had her thyroid removed and some of the affected lymph nodes, please think of her as she is in recovery and over the next few days/weeks that she gets back on her feet. I am feeling confident she will lick this, and will be back to her active life in no time. Amanda is 20 years old and is starting her junior year at Texas A&M this fall, she's a doll and full of life, please keep that in mind as you pray for her parents as well... I cannot imagine what they have gone through so far, and the worry they will continue to have.

I know there are a lot of great people out there that read this blog.... please take just a moment for the Jordan family this week.

Thanks!!!!!

My Name is KIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDD....

Ok we survived our night as rockers. Actually this was one of the best concerts I have attended, it was a great show. Lynard Skynard opened and they were alright, sang the usuals...Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme 3 Steps...Then Kid came out, he was awesome. In the middle of Kid Rock, Rev Run came out and sang Tricky & Walk this Way

We didn't stick out at all! We had seats near the stage, and everyone around us seemed normal, on the hill where most people sit and it was PACKED, that crowd was a little rowdy.
What fun! Thanks for the invite Wade & Julie..may have started with a rocky beginning, but the night was a blast.

GSP 2008: The River

Last but not least is the river. This is where we spent most of our time. There was no floating this year because of the river being so low, but we found plenty of nice swimming holes to waste our days away.

The jumping is right behind the pavillion in the park, we could sit there and hear the music from the juke box playing. It was a good spot this year, unitl it got popular and crowded and we moved.

As Gary P. nunn would say "Body surfin' the Frio,
It's Saturday night in Del Rio"
You can see Mo and Ray's heads as they body surf through the rapid.

No comment on Wade& Rusty.

Flying Reagan!

The minnows we caught, some of them.

Here's McKenna, sorry Julie's face isn't clear!

The Rope swings...

SIDE NOTE: Neal's didn't serve the stewed green beans while we were there this year, but it didn't really affect Rusty's performance... He had the CFS special with plain green beans here's a before and after shot:

GOOD STUFF!!!!

Kiddos outside at Neal's:

Well that's it for Garner. I have many more pictures, I'll put them in the slide show. I'm sure it is obvious we had a great vacation and are already looking foward to next year. Well I guess we will get a vacation if Rusty's financial planning works out with Mr. Halata!
