Thursdays with Rusty

Did you know...

Male rhesus monkeys often hang from tree branches by their amazing prehensile penises.

On the other hand...

On average, a beaver can cut down two hundred trees a year.

Kind of makes you think?

OJT Camping Group: MAN DOWN!!!!

Before I begin my usual upbeat, play by play of our weekend getaway, I want to pay tribute to a young man in our group. Brian sustained an injury during the guy's "Extreme" Washer game. He was an innocent bystander (Bad choice of seating spot, but innocent just the same.) Here's to you Brian, you took one for the team and we honor you with this heart breaking, post injury moment.

Ok, now that's out of the way... We headed to Yogi Bear Park in Waller this weekend. There were about 7 families camping this time, and it was a great time. This Yogi has a water park so the kiddos spent a lot of time swimming and doing the water slides, luckily all of the bad weather just went around us and we were never affected.

Thursday night was Bella Leggio's 9th birthday slumber party @ Yogi. I went up that night also and helped Julie with a Scavenger hunt.. The girls were having so much fun..Happy Birthday Bella, I can't believe you are turning 9! Seems like yesterday you were toddling around, now you are dancing around doing the "RD" move. Thanks to JL for having the girls...The Wild Turkeys Rock!

Bella Leggio: The Birthday Queen

Friday was time for fun in the sun......
The OJT kids

Kayla & Morgan

This one is hard to tell, but the girls are sliding down on RD's back.

This is RD, RD, RD, RD, RD and his GURLZ!

But it wasn't without problems:
Little Bella Halata, (YES HER DAD WAS THE VICTIM OF THE BEFORE MENTIONED INJURY) she got a bobo on the slide. She handled it better than her Daddy.

Saturday: SAME THANG!!!!!! samethang....

I have decided to create a ALL JACKED UP CALENDAR Here's some of the shots I got that may make the cut, The Men Behind OJT:

I had a picture of Tim, but there was some kind of glare, it seemed to be coming off his topsiders? Odd. Maybe he will make it next year in the "Men of the Regatta" edition. I think they should keep their day jobs.

Here's Collin & Julie, he got to drive the golf cart, he took a weekend off of surfing.

We have some of the happiest campers ...You are Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, Right Alyssa?

Cute huh? Julie, were ya nervous I'd put your favorite pic? I'd never...but I still think it is blog worthy.

In Short: There were snorts, Meteorology reports from the Yogi golf cart patrol, Julie wore a hearing aid to the pool?, Same Thang, Brian is the "hot daddy", Black Feet (atleast we did), El Salvadorian Rooster Fighter, Washers turned bloody, Mike had another virus, Julie got busted buying stogies, Brookshire Bros closes when???,Johhny & Joe,Timmy Topsiders, Julie Rainey forgot the beans, Jason turned to wine, and many wonderful stage acts courtesy of our VERY talented children, AND... Chili only ran off once!

****Timmy two-shoes & Brian "My Head Hurts" Halata, I know you took the heat this blog, I love you and it is all in good fun. Know it will be someone else next time.

What Fun... Good Eats... Good Laughs...Great Memories, it will be too long til Texana. Keep the Flamingos Flying in your hearts.
BAM!

For all the non-camping groupers, we won't be camping anytime soon, so Iwill take they time in the near future to explain some of the names and mascots you hear in the blog. If Brian doesn't make it back from his injury, we could be looking for a filler:-)

Thursday with Rusty: As I see it...

I am too young to have a daughter that text messages me.

Text messaging is all wrong anyway.

I learned a new acronym this week, Bend Over Hear It Comes Again. I am so glad I bought a big diesel truck and that I drive it all day...BOHICA!

I think you should be Leary of anyone who does not own a pet.

I don't know why you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway.

I do know if you don't want anyone to know, you should not do it.

Beach Bummin' It

We spent a long weekend in Galveston & it was a great trip. We camped along with 4 other families at Galveston Sate Park. We did a lot.....

*****On a side note I must say that there is 1 boy that camps in our group, he isn't in any pictures because he spent most of his time getting goofy catching some waves and hanging 10...I just wanted it known that I didn't forget Collin! Someone will send me his picture and I will include it.

We hung with our buddies! Alyssa had it made in the shade! We dug a giant hole! There was lots of dancing! Sandcastles were built and people were buried in the sand. Little girls turned into mermaids in the sand. I couldn't resist including the picture of the beautiful rainbow. Bella took time to relax with dad, & Tim spent time missing his wife. The ladies drank Mimosas and got together for a photo. Kids and adults acted kinda silly.
There were sleepy times, happy times, family time....an overall Great time!

Thanks Leggios, Raineys, Halatas. Cochrans, and even Wade & Julie for such a relaxing and fun weekend. There were a ton of laughs...Feathers no Dots though!Julie chunked a beer, but it was cool...Rusty was, well just Rusty. Brian your monologue was unforgettable! "AND THE PASSWORD IS "DOE KNOB" Lunches were like a buffet, Finding out the hard way how much is too much in the margarita maker, Oodles of noodles, Dads all got new cooking aprons courtesy of the kids, NEW WASHERS, midnight snacks, finding out not every mom carries an extra diaper to go to a restaurant, Julie was the Queen of Questions, little green men on the beer, AND we only lost Chili once... BAM!!!

Dancing Queens

Last night was the girls' dance recital. It was LONG, but they all did a really great job. I got some pictures on Rusty's phone (excuse the quality) these are some of my favorite dancers! I'll start with Reagan, I didn't have any of her a few weeks ago. She was wonderful, nothing like her "BAM" move but very impressive! She was really proud of her flowers. Her proud grandma is in the background as well (Smile Taw Taw).

Maci, Morgan, Bella, Bella's friend

McKenna, Alyssa, Reagan

Aren't they all so pretty! They must all have some perty darn good lookin' parents!

School's Out...Scream & Shout

Every year Morgan has an end of the year swim party and invites kids from her class. This Saturday was her party to bid farewell to Second Grade. Kids had a ball & and everyone of them were very sweet and well behaved. I can't believe I have a child going into the 3rd grade! It was fun with snow cones, cookie cake (which Morgan insisted the the cookie cake read "School's Out, Scream & Shout" , candy & even a Spider Man jumpee. It should be a great summer!
